Charleston
A dance craze in the 1920s during the era of jazz music, speakeasies & flappers
Shag
Collegiate Shag is a high energy dance with 3 different rhythms:
Single, Double & Triple
Lindy Hop
This American born dance was created in Harlem, New York and was popular in the 30s & 40s
Solo dancing that can also be implemented into partner Swing Dancing as styling & musicality
Balboa
Meant for crowded dance floors & fast tempos this fun dance first started in the ballrooms of SoCal
Blues
An African American dance with various styles done to Blues music, solo or partnered
Jitterbug
A 6-count dance that can be done to most genres of Swing, especially 50s Rock & Roll or Jump Blues
Pre-Swing Era
In the early 1900s Ragtime Music was all the rage which led to dances like The One Step & Fox-Trot
